This week, I review a black church in the heart of Bridgeport, CT. I knew God led me to the right place because when we pulled up in front, my daughter said, “I’m so nervous.”

The church’s name is Mount Aery Baptist Church, but I didn’t know the church’s name before the service — just the address. So why didn’t I know the name? Because an angel told me to go to this address at 9:30 a.m. So I did.
I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, “Ryan, we know you are a little crazy in the head, and you’re off your medication, but an angel? Really??”

TARSHEEN THE ANGEL

Yes, an angel. Her name is Tarsheen, and she moved from the Bronx to be a teacher in Bridgeport. On Wednesday night at the comedy club (Stress Factory), I saw her. I told her how God had directed me to review a black church. She said there’s a perfect church for me, right in town. She gave me the exact address, “73 Frank Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604,” and told me the start time, “9:30 a.m.” But she didn’t know the name of the church.

Tarsheen then told me that they start off with meditation. I responded, “No, you must have misunderstood. I wanted to go to a black church.” She reassured me that it was a black church. I had to make sure…
